Department of Food Engineering

Department of Food engineering, one of the five departments of faculty of Agro-industry,has been established in 1992 with the main four-fold mandates: education , research , community survice and nuturing culture.

• Education

The department of Food engineering is responsible for education in the field of food process engineering , which is the four-year curriculum approved on 7 December,1994 by Ministry of university affair. The department ,at first,adopted students in that year and go on 20 students each year.

• Importance of Food process engineering

Because the processing in food industry have to utilize technology and unit operations for managing agricultural raw materials and converting to be a higher quality,so production planning,process controllinng ,process development and equipment selection suitable for typical raw materials must good according to practical and economical possibility,which based on the knowledge combination of engineers and food scientists.Consequently,this curriculum conbines these distinctions for higher skills of students and ,forhighestgold,meeting the requirements of private sectors.

The study program provided for undergraduate students includes general education and field of specialization

• General education

This program includes Social science,humanity,Enlish,pure science and engineering.

• Specialization This program includes the followings:

- industrial organisation and management

- engineering economy

- food processing and preservation

- food engineering process control

- bioprocess operation

- food processing equipment

- hygienic design and operation of food plant

- etc.
